We are currently looking for the following positions:

STORE ASSOCIATES
Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and offer assistance;
  • Share your merchandise knowledge and project expertise to recommend merchandise based on customers’ needs and wants;
  • Properly explain the use and benefit of desired merchandise to customers;
  • Organize and stock shelves with product for assigned departments

 

CASHIERS
Responsibilities:

  • Greet each customer with a friendly, positive customer-oriented demeanor;
  • Use of a point-of-sale cash register to collect payments, provide receipts, and refund money for items returned by customers;
  • Inform customers about current sales, promotions and exchanges;
  • Basic math and computer skills required;
  • Should be prepared to stand for long hours.

YARD ASSOCIATE

POSITION REPORTS TO: Yard Foreman
STARTING PAY:  $17.00/hour – based on experience

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES:  The Yard Customer Service – Gate Guard is responsible for assuring that all yard materials leaving the Lumber Yard are secure and accounted for by meticulously checking vehicles both entering and leaving the yard.

In addition to this overview of job duties, other assignments or job duties may be required.

SPECIFIC AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure all materials loaded on vehicles are matched with yard tags before leaving the gate. Verify the quantity and lengths of all material leaving the yard. This requires the constant use of a measuring tape.

2. Be aware of and note any products coming in the yard, on or in a Customer’s vehicle.

3. Assure that the Yard gate is staffed AT ALL TIMES. If the Gate Guard needs a break, they must advise Yard Foreman or Assistant Yard Foreman before leaving the gate.

4. Complete yard tags in a legible and complete manner.

5. At the end of day, collect and review all yard yellow forms.

6. Be the overseer and guardian at the Yard gate.

7. Work in a safety conscious manner at all times. Ensure that all yard staff conduct themselves in a safety-conscious manner at all times. Follow all safety regulations and security guidelines. Actively contribute to work safety and security.

8. Maintain a safe, clean and pleasant work environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

2. Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of building products.

3. Valid California Driver’s License

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements of Job:
1. Ability to stand outside in a covered enclosure for extended periods of time.

2. Ability to operate and control power tools safely.

3. Ability to courteously and professionally interact with our Customers.

4. Ability to understand and communicate written and spoken information and ideas.

5. Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

6. Ability to lift, carry and maneuver goods that may weigh 50 pounds, utilizing additional personnel and mechanical assistance as required.

7. Ability to encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.

8. Ability to keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to a job.

9. Ability to manage work time efficiently.
