    SALES ASSOCIATE

    DEPARTMENTS: Varies
    STARTING PAY: $15.50/hour – Based on experience

    General Summary:

    The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service with every interaction, involving sales and/or return of merchandise, while maintaining a clean and organized department and/or work station.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a professional mannerism in appearance and actions to provide a positive representation of Goodman Building Supply
    • Greet customers entering the store and/or scheduled department with a friendly, positive customer-oriented demeanor;
    • Thank customers for shopping at Goodman Building Supply when they are leaving the store.
    • Use of a point-of-sale cash register to collect payments, provide receipts, and refund money for items returned by customers if assigned to the registers;
    • Inform customers about current sales, promotions and exchanges;
    • Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
    • Assist in pricing, marking and bagging of all purchased merchandise.
    • Possess an eagerness to learn product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
    • Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
    • Keep the area assigned to neat and clean at all times.

      REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
      1. Basic math and computer skills required.
      2. Cash handling experience a plusPhysical, Mental and Environmental

      Requirements of Job:
      1. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
      2. Ability to courteously and professionally interact with our Customers.
      3. Ability to understand and communicate written and spoken information and ideas.
      4. Ability to lift, carry and maneuver goods (up to 50lbs.), utilizing additional personnel and mechanical assistance as required.
      6. Ability to encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
